An alternative to weighing product is to fill the sacks by time, this process is known as volumetric filling.
This is a particularly popular method when packing compost, mulch, wood chips etc, that have a variable bulk density because of moisture content.
A fill time is enetered into the system by means of a manual dial or on screen value. An empty sack is then placed on the sack clamp and the system fills the bag with product for the set time value entered. The amount that the sacks are filled can be easily adjusted until the fill level is correct to suit that batch of product.

This is a typical automatic volumetric filling system where empty sacks are placed onto a sack clamp by the sack placer. The sack is then filled for a set period of time.
The belt feeder is fed by a bulk hopper and a level probe is used to call for product when it is needed.
Aswell as filling FIBC bags by weight, we can also offer a volumetric packing system so that the FIBC is filled for a pre-set duration.
